Fresh Face in the MEP/WIEP Resource Center
Among the fresh new faces you are seeing this semester in the center,
take a minute to meet Cindy Cabrales. She is the Program Coordinator
for MEP and WIEP and will be specializing in Retention and Student
Support. Her new office is 113D, stop by and say hello!
2007 MEP/WIEP Leadership Conference
A
special Lockheed Martin Leadership Conference for WIEP & MEP CU students
will be offered on Friday & Saturday, October 12 &13, 2007. This is a fun
and rewarding experience that will help you develop your leadership,
communication and professional skills. YOU ARE INVITED TO ATTEND &
WELCOME TO BRING ANY FRIENDS! Please review the attached
agenda
and
student registration form.
Interested students must register by THIS FRIDAY, OCTOBER 5th. Space is limited so registrations will
be accepted on a first come – first serve basis.
Wanted! New Members of a Rewarding Exercise Group
Like to exercise? Do you have Monday's free from 12:30-1:30pm? If so, participate in weekly workouts
for all skill levels with a former Olympic skier. Focusing on core-strength, enjoy the outdoors every
Monday afternoon using outdoor elements (rocks, parking lots, soccer field, bike racks, rock ledges,
steps, etc.) as your gym! Class meets in all weather. Cost: $22 per session (1 session = 4 consecutive
weeks; paid in advance): Dates: October 8-October 29. If interested, please email
Janet.Yowell@colorado.edu. Class meets in front of the ITLL at 12:30pm every Monday. You must
pre-register for the class.

11 a.m. - 1 p.m., Eaton Conf Room
Attention all female Civil, Environmental, Architectural,
and Open Option Engineering students. Network with new people,
female faculty, students, and staff in your major. Also, sign-up for
outreach and volunteer opportunities. Please sign-in when you come!

Winning at Math Power Hours all this week!
Don't fall behind and get stressed right before your big test.
Learn how to manage math anxiety, master problem solving, success
strategies, and test taking skills. Check out the
schedule for the workshops around the
WIEP resource center and at
www.Colorado.edu/sasc/math/wedwork!
All of these workshops serve pizza for dinner too.
Women's Manufacturing Workshops
For only $10 you can choose one of three dates to learn about
machining tools and how to operate three machines from female instructors.
These skills will be useful in both your educational work and future
internships. Sign-up on the clipboard in ITLL 1B40. There are
still two workshops coming up on Saturday, October 6th
from 10a.m until 5p.m., or Saturday, October 13th from 10a.m. until 5p.m.
Snacks and lunch/dinner will be provided.

Scout Badge Days
Saturday, October 6th
10:30 a.m. - 2 p.m.
Help the Brownies earn an important badge in the math and science
fields. You will be guiding the girls through activities that will
help earn them a badge. A rewarding experience and a great way to
get involved in the community. Please e-mail Annie Stevens at
