Winning at Math Power Hour
Tuesday, October 2
5p.m. - 6:30p.m., DUAN G2B41
Get extra help on problem solving strategies that keep everyone stumped.  Please bring your textbook and a homework assignment with at least one word problem, and any problem solving strategies you went over in class.  There will be free pizza too!

Women's Manufacturing Workshops
For only $10 you can choose one of three dates to learn about machining tools and how to operate three machines from female instructors.  These skills will be useful in both your educational work and future internships.  Sign-up on the clipboard in ITLL 1B40.  Come October 1st, 8th and 15th from 5p.m. to 7p.m. or Saturday, October 6th from 10a.m until 5p.m., or Saturday, October 13th from 10a.m. until 5p.m.  Snacks and lunch/dinner will be provided.

Multicultural Graduate Student Welcome
Friday, September 28th

Come to the fifth annual Multicultural Graduate Student Welcome and network with fellow graduate students and faculty members.  Take this opportunity to join groups on campus, get to know resources, and enjoy free food with great company.

Girl Scout Badge Days
Saturday, October 6th
10:30a.m - 2p.m.
Help the Brownies earn an important badge in the math and science fields.  You will be guiding the girls through activities that will help earn them a badge.  A rewarding experience and a great way to get involved in the community.  Please e-mail Annie Stevens at cugirlscouts@hotmail.com to sign-up.

CAREER SERVICES OPPORTUNITIES

Suit Yourself Fashion Show and Sale
Thursday, September 27th
10a.m. - 6p.m., UMC 235
With all the career fairs and interviews coming up you will need to look sharp.  Purchase great gently worn suits for almost nothing.  There will be a fashion show at 12p.m. highlighting what you shouldn't wear and advertising current looks.  Don't forget the profits from this event go back to MEP and MBSA. 

How to: Land that Dream Job
Wednesday, September 26th
5p.m. - 7p.m., ECCR 200
Get tips on how to prepare for the career fairs, writing resumes, and interview tactics with emphasis on how to get what you want out of your job.  You will be speaking with a panel of professionals from Agilent, Ball Aerospace, Johns Manville and many more!


Resume Critiques
Thursday, September 27th
2p.m. - 4p.m., Engineering Lobby
No need to RSVP, just bring your resume and meet with professionals from Ball Aerospace, LSI Logic, McKesson, IBM, and Roche Pharmaceutical to polish up your resume before the career fairs hits.
