Information for Incoming Freshmen

					Gisella Kagy Applied Mathematics
					When she was choosing a college, Gisella Kagy was looking for a sense of community and a rigorous academic curriculum. "There are so many different and interesting opportunities at CU that would be hard to find at a small technical school," she says. "I enjoy getting the chance to meet new people and getting involved with new projects," says the sophomore who is involved with the Society of Women Engineers, Women in Engineering Program, and Engineers Without Borders. "I also like applying what I am learning in classes to real-life applications. I'm the Women in Engineering webmaster, and with this job I am able to use the programming skills that I've learned."

Academic Offerings: Choose Your Own Path

As a freshman at CU Engineering, you have the opportunity to select from a variety of majors. You may also explore the various engineering disciplines before making a choice at the end of your first year. For those who aren't ready to choose a course of study immediately, we offer a recommended curriculum that will still allow you to graduate in four years. You'll be designated as "Open Option" until you select a major, and you can get advising directly from the Dean's Office.
