The College of Engineering and Applied Science is dedicated to maintaining an open, inclusive, and supportive environment for all of its students, staff, and faculty. As part of this goal, we are committed to recruiting and retaining a diverse faculty, staff, and student body, including women and people of color who are traditionally underrepresented in the field of engineering. By reaching out to underrepresented populations we want to encourage and develop students interest in math, science, engineering, and technology, and help to prepare them for the study of engineering at the college level. Additionally, by building a strong, inclusive community within the college, we hope to substantially broaden the impact of these underrepresented groups through the field of engineering. Only by drawing on all of the available creativity can we find the best engineering solutions to the world's challenges.
