New International Engineering Certificates Offered Three years after introducing an International Engineering Certificate in German, the college has expanded the program to include certificates in Spanish, French, and Italian. Undergraduate engineering students now have the opportunity to complete an international internship in conjunction with language and literature or cultural studies in any one of these areas. Students who successfully complete the requirements will receive notations on their diplomas. "The certificates prepare engineers for a global economy through language, cultural awareness, and international work experience," says Sherry Snyder, director of student programs in engineering. CU students are being placed in internships at companies such as BMW in Munich, Carlo Gavazzi Space in Milan, and Infineon Technologies AG, a semi-conductor company in Regensburg. A graduate Certificate in International Engineering also is available, featuring international research internships and engineering courses with an international focus. For more information on undergraduate certificates, contact Sherry Snyder at 303-492-7674 or Snyders@colorado.edu. For information on graduate certificates, contact Carla Goulart at 303-492-3607 or goulart@colorado.edu.
