Advances in biology are leading to an explosion of new information that is literally redefining our understanding of life at the molecular level. CU-Boulder’s Initiative in Molecular Biotechnology includes plans for a new building to bring life scientists and engineers together to provide a systems approach to challenges in health care and bio-renewable energy. (See sidebar for information about the Jennie Smoly Caruthers Biotechnology Building now under construction.) Following are examples of biotechnology and bioengineering research topics currently being pursued by faculty members in each of our departments: Aerospace Engineering Sciences
Chemical & Biological Engineering
Civil, Environmental and Architectural Engineering
Computer Science
Electrical, Computer, and Energy Engineering
Mechanical Engineering
