| Don’t be a stranger! Stay active in the MEP and help promote the success of engineering students following in your footsteps. |
| The MEP offers a variety of opportunities for alumni to get involved, including: | |
THE ANNUAL MEP RECOGNITION GALA (BANQUET)
Each spring the MEP celebrates the successes of past, current, and prospective students at this lively event, which in recent years has been held at the CU Stadium Club overlooking Folsom Field. Re-visit the beautiful CU campus, re-connect with old friends, meet the new faces of the MEP family, and celebrate the mission of this great program! |
THE MEP ADVISORY COUNCIL (MEPAC)
The MEP invites alumni to help guide this program as members of the MEP Advisory Council, which advises MEP staff on how to best meet the needs of historically underrepresented students of color in the College of Engineering and Applied Science and the needs of corporations and organizations in the engineering field. The MEPAC also helps to generate funds for MEP scholarships and program activities. |

INDUSTRY VISITS/GUEST SPEAKING
Industry tours and face-to-face contact with working engineers is one of the greatest motivators for our MEP students. As an alumnus, you can help current students explore various careers and opportunities by hosting a tour at your company or by speaking in the MEP Leadership Class or at an informal info session on campus. This kind of involvement is needed year round! |
RECRUITING/CAREER FAIRS
Fall and Spring career fairs and on-campus recruiting activities are a great way for you to meet and recruit the best and the brightest of the MEP and the CU College of Engineering and Applied Science. Through career fairs and recruiting, MEP students are able to network for potential jobs and internships and develop relationships with industry representatives and companies have the chance to hand-pick highly qualified job and intern candidates. We invite your and others in your company to come visit with our students and take advantage of these win-win opportunities. |
TUTORING/MENTORING
Volunteering as a tutor or mentor is one of the greatest ways alumni can give back to the MEP. Whether ongoing or occasional, with one student or several, your time, expertise, and experience can make a big difference in the academic success of today’s students and tomorrow’s engineers. The MEP seeks tutors and mentors willing to help in all academic subjects as well as career coaching, goal setting, etc. |
VOLUNTEERING/OUTREACH
Alumni volunteers are integral to the success of many of our outreach events, including the MESA Fall Fling and MESA MARK, Success Institute, and other events for K-12 and prospective The MEP students. Get involved as a speaker, activity leader, instructor, or behind-the-scenes helper! |
